Managing Trustee: Major (Retired) Prashant Rai. Home to Society is an initiative to provide life skills to women of all socio economic strata and ages to function efficiently in today's society.
Major Prashant Rai is the founder of Home to Society. He is an ex infantry officer of Indian Army and a soldier who had won the prestigious gallantry award for his bravery in armed forces. After his Army life, he continued his career as a successful entrepreneur.
Being from a family wherein serving in the Army comes from generations, it was apt for him to do something for the Indian society as well where he mainly focuses on the social upliftment and women empowerment through quality education, training and holistic methodologies to channelize their energies and capabilities to fight against sexual as well as domestic violence. Home to Society is involved in training and motivating the women from all strata of society. It basically helps in motivating, empowering, encouraging and preparing women society in all aspects to act, rather than depend on state power and beneficence.
Empowering society through empowering women is his vision.
Programme Manager: Major (Retired) Bhavana Chiranjay is an Ex-Indian Army Officer from the Corps of Engineers (Madras Sappers). She has been a martial arts practitioner for the last two decades and has had exposure to five different martial art forms (both Indian and Oriental). She has had tenures in the army as an Instructor to both the Officer Cadre and the Other Ranks, and aims to use her training experience in the army and her martial arts background, to help train women and children live a truly independent existence, marked by the capability to protect oneself and ones priorities from the various forms of aggression that are prevalent in today's society (both overt and covert). She dreams of a world-wide community of women that can overcome the social and cultural challenges of woman hood, and self-actualize to lead fulfilled lives, and go a step beyond and reach out to create a better world.
Treasurer: Captain(Retired) Smitha Naidu served the Indian Armed Forces in the capacity of a regulatory officer. She currently works for a multinational and has a keen interest in developing high performing teams through leadership and motivation. Issues related to women and development of women is close to her heart, and Capt Smitha ensures commitment and involvement in various corporate and social events to support the same.
Board Member: Smt. Prem Bala Rai, wife of Late Colonel Sri Ram Rai, is committed to women's welfare in society. She has years of experience of working closely with various womens' social causes, by counseling and providing the required support.
Board Member: Mrs. Shubhangi Rai, wife of Maj (Retd) Prashant Rai, champions women's causes such as living with respect and dignity, and support for oppressed women. Reaching out to society by education, training and empowering women, is a way of life for Mrs. Rai

Dr Sunitha Krishnan: Dr Sunitha Krishnan, is an Indian social activist and chief functionary and co-founder of Prajwala, an institution that assists trafficked women and girls in finding shelter. The organization also helps pay for the education of five thousand children infected with HIV/AIDS in Hyderabad. Prajwala's "second-generation" prevention program operates in 17 transition centers and has served thousands of children of prostituted mothers. The NGO's strategy is to remove women from brothels by giving their children education and career opportunities. She has been the main inspiration behind the genesis of Home to Society and Swakshatra.
Prof Debu Sen: Professor Debusen is a Doctorate in Educational Planning (Entrepreneurship), Harvard University and a Master's in Business Administration (Finance), University of Massachusetts. An avid educator and a philanthropist, his work in Calcutta to provide quality healthcare to women from the lower economic classes, has inspired us to do our bit for the cause of women empowerment.
